6th November 2014, frosty

First post for some time, although not my first visit since coming back from Wales.

Bonfire night last night, and unfortunately some rubbish left around by the car park by the lazy buggers that visit here.

Quite a frost this morning, chilly, but had the makings of a fine day.
I just walked the north lake today, so not as much seen as my visit yesterday. Still no sign of any Pochard yet, but plenty of other ducks around.
The Mallards were out in force, and managed to catch me three times for feeding.

Under the road bridge, a fleeting glimpse of a Kingfisher, and then a second one, further round, going past the pub.

The autumn colours were looking splendid in the sun, and making some great reflections in the water.

 Coot

Up at the arm, round the back of the pub, the usual throng of Wigeon, Coot, a few Gadwall, and a big flock of Canada Geese, that dropped in.

Quite a group of them, and they stayed a while for a bath and drink .....

before heading off back to the nearby fields to feed.

Past the wall of the dam, and another Kingfisher flashed past, calling as he went.

Walking in the opposite direction to which I usually go, I had the sun in front of me at one point. Made for an interesting picture.

It wasn't long before I was back near the road bridge, opposite the pub, and I was quickly spotted by the Mallards again.

Must be the best fed ducks in MK
