A very quick visit round the north lake this morning; a few things to do today.
Stocking up on Christmas drink was one of them.

The Great Northern Diver was swimming out in the middle of the lake, bathed in sunshine. Too far for pictures, but good to see all the same.

As I made my way round the footpath, two Herons were busily chasing each other again, although this time one kept going towards the south lake.
The aggressor? Same one as yesterday. He's got a few feathers missing from his left wing.

Coots, Moorhen, Wigeon, Tufted and Gadwall, were all in abundance, and a Kingfisher flew round by some reeds. Above a Sparrowhawk made a couple of high circuits, before heading off over the fields at Simpson; and up by the weir, the female Goosander had just woken up.

A quick look at the feeders, when I got back to the car park, and a Great Spotted Woodpecker was enjoying some peanuts.

A short video today
