Half a lake.....

.....is better than none.

I just walked the north lake this morning, and a bit later than usual.
Then I went off to Stockgrove Park, to hopefully get some bird pictures, and see some Siskins. I wasn’t disappointed, on both counts.

But back to Caldecotte.
Plenty of Black-headed Gulls, Coots and Tufted Ducks; but I didn’t do any counting today. The trees are still looking wonderful, with their autumn colour; but a windy day today, and lots of leaves falling. I think the show draws to a close.

No Red Crested Pochard again, and only a couple of Common Pochard on the lake. Canada Geese are in huge numbers, and quite a few Herons and Cormorants fishing today.
The bushes held the usual Goldfinches round the car park, along with Chaffinch and Greenfinch; and half a dozen Redwing scoffing the berries.

  3. You were lucky with the Siskins and variable ducks, because I didn't go outside, except to the library.
