Another half

Not a good day today. A ton of things to do, so only the north lake walked this morning. The wind has dropped, but the rain is pushing in now. A light drizzle, then stopped for a while. Lots of leaves have blown from the trees, but still colourful walking round.

This shot is the part of the lake favoured by the Red Crested Pochard, and a lot of other birds; but today, no sign of him, and only a handful of other ducks there. About 60, which included Tufted, Pochard, Gadwall, Wigeon and Coot. No idea why or where they’ve gone.

The Redwings are still around the car park, along with plenty of Blackbirds, and Blue Tits. Plenty of Black-headed Gulls, and I’ve noticed an increase in Common Gull recently.

  5. Just caught up with all the lovely, colourful Autumnal posts of the last few days Keith. You really are lucky to have such a nice local lake, there isn't anything like that very close to me.

The weather has been dire here today and even at this time of night, in pouring rain, I can still hear that people are standing outside watching their money go up in smoke!!

  6. Thanks Jan. It's difficult to tear myself away from the lake at times.
The fireworks round here, and most places I guess, will be going on now well into the new year. My dog hates them.
